Prenatal autonomy is the principle that parents have the rights to make all decisions concerning their children, without the interference of the government. Parents believe they should be able to decide what their kids makeup is so they have perfect children. Many people who cannot afford this procedure are starting to see this as a genetic manipulation to what should of been different in the first place. Many controversies have arisen because the ethics behind this topic and the principle of prenatal autonomy. People are beginning to think the government should get involved to make sure there is some sort of market regulation so it doesn't become over used. But people using it are arguing because they think they should be allowed to make their decisions all on their own without the government intervening to tell them what is right and wrong.
Designer babies gone wrong
There is always a possibility for science to take a wrong turn, and this could turn these "designer babies" into mistakes. Many parents think this is a good process to go through but when tests results come back and they aren't exactly what they wanted, they might decide to terminate the pregnancy. This is harming a baby that hasn't been born yet and they just paid loads of money to have this done and all their money just went down the drain. The anticipation of having a perfect baby could set parents up for disappointment when the baby doesn't come out the way they wanted it to. There has also been times when the procedure has gone wrong and the baby has came out distorted.
