Playing God?In a more spiritual aspect, people of the church find designer babies rather insulting, due to the fact scientist are considered to be "playing God." Not only is this controversial subject impacting citizens negatively, it is also impacting citizens of the church negatively as well. This creates controversy because, people believe spiritually this is an unnatural way of creating babies. This will create controversy because, they believe, God should be the only entity to create babies and science should steer away from it. Also, geneticist have to create, on average, twelve fertilized embryos using the fathers sperm and mothers egg. After they become fertilized, scientists will place on average four out of the twelve strongest fertilized embryos into the mothers womb. Where the controversy erupts is the containment of the extra fertilized embryos. After the process is done, the extra FERTILIZED eggs get put in a fridge (cryopreserved) to stay frozen around -196 degrees Celsius. This is only if the parents pay the fee of $500 dollars per year to keep the eggs frozen. If parents choose not to pay the yearly fee, the FERTILIZED embryos will then be tossed away for no further use.
Disappointments
According to Dr. Arthur Caplan of the University of Pennsylvania, disappointment in the procedures is possible. Designer babies isn't 100% accurate and could backfire on the parent's choices. For example, if a parent wanted their child to have blue eyes, the child could be born with blue eyes but a mean personality. This is because this procedure is so new to the medical world, it's still in "experimental mode." Doctors and scientists alike, still are trying to figure out the chromosomes and which ones correspond to which trait or traits. Also, in addition to disappointments, the child will eventually figure out they're genetically modified. This will lower the child's self esteem by making them feel like, in order to be perfect they need to be exactly what their parents want. This could cause conflict between the parents and child.

Wealthy Vs. poorEverything in life costs money; but some expenses are too extreme for middle classes and below. Designer babies are one of those expenses more suited for wealthier income families. This is because, designer babies are about $20,000. With this being said, the wealthier income families will have a higher advantage than the lower income families at purchasing a designer baby. This will create a large deal of conflict because of the injustice it will contour. Also, this might create a new form of racism toward the wealthier class of people. This will give the wealthier people a higher chance of being more successful faster, than it is for lower income families who have to work hard for their successes. Lastly, the funds being put into designer baby programs are coming out of the peoples pockets, through taxes. Even though, lower income families will struggle to create a baby of their choice, they're still paying for the expenses needed to harvest these designer babies.
